Frome
The Somerset town of Frome lies on
the river of the same name. This busy market town, at its busiest during
the holiday season, has a population of around 14,000. Its quaint steep
and narrow streets are very attractive, the most famous being the
cobbled Cheap Street with its central water course. Frome's early
prosperity was based on cloth making but today relies on industries like
carpet making, light engineering and printing. The map below shows the
