Kingston upon Thames
A
prosperous Anglo Saxon town, built at a fording, and later bridging,
point on the Thames, it is said that Anglo Saxon kings were crowned
here, on the stone which now stands near the Guildhall. There has been a
regular street market here for centuries and it is now as popular as
